'A tranquil family-run residential care home specialising in dementia care'
We strive to make Lime Tree Court a home away from home. This is key to make the transition
of our residents as they move from their private homes into residential care.
We aim to provide a homely environment, different to many of the 'new build' care homes
which we feel can be clinical and lack 'soul'.
'Our residents do not live in the staff's workspace, the staff work in the residents home'.
Care must be personal and reflect the needs of the individual. We understand the needs
of all of our residents and deliver person centred care. The needs of everyone who lives here, their likes and dislikes are understood and care is tailored to all them.
We don't believe that 'one size fits all' and take time to understand the needs of all of
our residents and work with them and their family to assess and structure our care to
Every resident is different, every day is different, every need is different.
FRIENDLY and CARING
Lime Tree Court has remained in the same family for over 35 years. It is not part of a corporation or chain. We consider staff to be part of our family, and when our residents come into
the home you also become part of our family.
Lime Tree Court is full of smiles, laughter, and visitors are always welcome. We also work closely with the local community, this includes visits to the local school, regular church services in the home and even visits to the pub and village shop.
Lime Tree Court is located in a small village, at the end of a lane, next to the village church, as picturesque of a location that you could hope for. When you walk through the gate, see the ivy clad building you will feel the sense of tranquillity and calm, which will give you the comfort that this is a lovely place to live.
Within Lime Tree Court you will find many quiet corners, a beautiful enclosed garden and
16 bedrooms with two lounges and a dining room. The lounges and dining room have views of
our beautiful enclosed garden where some of the residents like to sit and watch the birds.
We specialise in the care of individuals with dementia. The staff have worked with individual's
with dementia for many years, and Lime Tree Court has, for over 30 years, specialised in the care of people with dementia.
We understand the best way to care for those living with dementia and constantly look for ways to stimulate the senses and respond to the residents needs. This includes working with our activities coordinator to provide visual aids and memory triggers. Pets (including our resident cats and miniature dachsund) are used to help with the complex needs of the individual's who live here.
We have close links with our local health community and work with the local GP's, district nurses and hospitals to work with them to find solutions for the individuals who live with us.

We have an on-site laundry room, and our staff will do your laundry for you. We ask you to label all your clothes clearly to ensure they are returned to you on a daily basis. We also suggest you do not bring delicate clothing or articles that need dry cleaning as we do not have the facilities to deal with these.

We have a stair lift, but due to the nature and age of the building we do not have a lift.
What about my valuables?
For safety, we recommend that valuables are looked after by your family, solicitor or bank.
If you do bring them into the home, we advise you to take out personal insurance as we are unable to take responsibility for valuable items. We encourage residents to keep money in a bank or building society account rather than in the home.
'those valuable and important questions...'
Lime Tree Court is a family owned business. It was owned and run by Georgina Rixon from 1980 until 2017 when she passed away. Then it was bought in 2018 by her son and daughter in law; Melissa and Cameron Laing.
Melissa is the Nominated Individual for Lime Tree Court and is responsible for supervising the management of the care home. Melissa has a background in Human Resources having worked at a senior level for large corporations for over 15 years. For the last nine years she ran her own fitness business, specialising in fitness for those with specialist needs and adults with learning disabilities. Melissa is now 100% focused on the management of Lime Tree Court and supporting the staff wherever needed and ensuring needs of the residents, families, regulators and everyone associated with the business are met. Melissa and Cameron have two teenage children and two dogs... one large, one small.
Sharon Nix has worked at Lime Tree Court for 26 years starting as someone who just worked nights to becoming the Registered Manager two years ago. Sharon has always looked to
further her knowledge of care and dementia is the area that she specialised in, just as Lime Tree Court has become a specialist home for people with Dementia. Sharon says 'Dementia is a cruel disease but people with dementia still have the ability to feel and interact. I believe that our residents need individual care and this must be offered with love and respect. We treat our residents as we would want our own family to be treated'.
When Sharon joined Lime Tree Court she had no children, she now has two grown-up children who have grown up visiting Lime Tree Court. 2018 was a very special year for Sharon as her first Grandchild, Polly, was born, she too has visited Lime Tree Court, just like her children have over the years.
In addition to Melissa and Sharon our staff consists of two senior carers, three supervisors, fifteen carers, one activites co-ordinator, two cooks and two members of staff who cover the domestic duties. We ensure at all times that we have adequate staff cover. During the night, a minimum of two carers are on duty. Developing a well trained staff is of critical importance to us. Staff working at Lime Tree Court are required to complete Mandatory Care Skills Training in thirteen subjects.
To further complement and promote ongoing development of staff several supplementary training suppliers are used.
Regulations - STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission and comply with the required standards for residential care while maintaining a home-from-home environment familiar to us all. LINK TO CQC
Our last CQC inspections was on the 14-16 November 2018 and the final report was published on 27th December 2018. We are extremely pleased to report Lime Tree Court has received improved ratings across three categories (Safe, Responsive and Well led) and remained 'Good' in two categories (Caring and Effective).
Overall the rating was raised from 'Requires improvements' to 'Good'.
This is a recognition of the hard work and dedication that has been put into Lime Tree Court under the leadership Melissa Laing, Proprietor and Sharon Nix, Registered Manager since Melissa and Cameron took over the business in early 2018 and became the legal owners in June 2018.
The new 'Good' rating is part of our five year improvement program program where one of the key targets when we became involved in the business was to improve our rating to 'Good', but we strive to get even better.
We are very proud of the report and the link is attached to this page, but we want to draw your attention to some of the comments reported by the CQC;
But we do not want to stop here, we have many more plans to build on this and investment and improvement continues with Lime Tree Court to provide the best standard of care to our residents.
